Who is Paul Dooley?
Paul Dooley (born February 22, 1928) is an actor, writer, and comedian from the United States. Breaking Away, Sixteen Candles, and Popeye are among his many credits. Dooley was born Paul Lee Brown in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the son of homemaker Ruth Irene and factory worker Peter James Brown.
He claimed that there were few sights in Parkersburg that piqued his interest, and that there were few cultural opportunities. Jimmy Durante was one of his favourite comedians to listen to on the radio.
Dooley used to be a cartoonist, and he used to draw a strip for a local Parkersburg newspaper. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1946 and served for two years before returning to West Virginia University and graduating in 1952.
