Actor Joseph Mazzello was born in the United States on September 21, 1983. His most well-known performances are those of Tim Murphy in Jurassic Park, Eugene Sledge in The Pacific, Dustin Moskovitz in The Social Network, and bassist John Deacon from Queen in Bohemian Rhapsody. Mazzello, the son of Virginia and Joseph Francis Mazzello Jr., who ran a dancing studio, was born in Rhinebeck and raised in Hyde Park, New York.

Mazzello attended Our Lady of Lourdes, a catholic school.  He attended the University of Southern California and graduated from the school in 2001 after receiving a letter of recommendation from director Steven Spielberg.  Mazzello humorously referred to his little role in The Lost World: Jurassic Park as his graduation present from director Steven Spielberg, and used the money from that role to pay for his education.
