As an actor, he is well-known for his roles as Grey Worm in Game of Thrones and Louis de Pointe du Lac in Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire. He is also well-known for his recurring appearances in the first seasons of Episodes and Broadchurch, as well as the thirteenth series of the revival of Doctor Who.  His debut album, You’re a Man Now, Boy, was a soul and trip hop album that was published in 2016 and received great reviews.

As a musician, he goes by the identity Raleigh Ritchie, and his music has been well received. Andy is the name of Anderson’s second album that was recorded in a studio. In the movie 4.3.2.1, Anderson performed the role of Angelo. In the drama series Injustice that aired on ITV, he played the role of Simon, a young man who was incarcerated in a facility for juvenile offenders. Additionally, he appeared as a guest on an episode of Outnumbered.

In addition, he had a role in an episode of the show Skins, and he also had a role in the feature film Comedown, which also starred Adam Deacon from Adulthood and was directed by Menhaj Huda, who was the director of Kidulthood. Anderson appeared in a number of plays, some of which include King Lear  at the Young Vic Theatre, War Horse at the National Theatre, and Dunsinane for the Royal Shakespeare Company. In the teen slasher movie Demons Never Die, he played the role of Ricky, and he also made an appearance in the comedy series Episodes on BBC Two, starring opposite Matt LeBlanc and Stephen Mangan.

In 2013, Anderson acquired a recording contract with Columbia Records and simultaneously released a free three-track EP under the stage name Raleigh Ritchie. The EP was titled The Middle Child. 2014 saw the release of the band’s second extended play, titled “Black and Blue.” A new song by Anderson titled “Aristocrats” was released as a single on May 6th, 2020.  This was Anderson’s second single to promote his second studio album Andy, following his release in 2018 of the single “Time In A Tree,” which was also included on the album.

The tracks “Party Fear” and “Squares” were released shortly after “Aristocrats” in the month of June. Andy was made available for purchase on Alacran Records on June 26th, 2020.  Actor Jacob Anderson joined the cast of the fantasy television series ‘Game of Thrones’ in the third season as the Grey Worm, and he continued to reprise the character until the final season 8, which is notorious for leaving the legions disappointed to the point that at least two million of them signed a petition for a remake of the series. The song “Say What You Mean” was released as a single by Anderson on July 30th, 2021.Writing for Clash, Robin Murray referred to it as a “defiant return.”

Anderson shared his thoughts by saying, “I compose songs for me, to get things off my chest and process my emotions, but then I release them, and I don’t own them anymore  I hope there is someone who listens to them, and I hope that makes them feel less lonely.”  After the release of “Say What You Mean,” the single “Lucky” was made available for purchase.  Even though the criticism that has been levelled against the concluding season of George R.R. Martin’s series is public knowledge, Anderson, also known as Grey Worm, has stated that he was prepared for it and was not surprised by it.

In a recent interview, he admitted, “I didn’t have strong thoughts about the finale.” He was speaking about the conclusion of the show. He continued his recollection by saying, “I remember when I first got the scripts for that final season, and I was like, ‘There’s something kind of punk about this season. It has a feeling of danger. And I felt like that was kind of fun.””I had a good time with it, and it was entertaining to make. It was a challenge, but it was enjoyable to put together.”

Anderson continued his explanation by saying, “We were filming for 11 months in the snow, and there were thousands upon thousands of people that worked so hard on.” And then for people to be like, when it came out, “You need to remake this,” it was just straight up like that. This is a dreadful situation. This is the worst thing that has ever happened. It was just a little bit depressing.

But if I’m being completely honest, despite the fact that I like it, I was prepared for other people to dislike it. Anderson came to the following conclusion: “I thought things were going to irritate folks.”Erykah Badu, David Bowie, Jill Scott, The Smiths, and Stevie Wonder are some of the musicians who have had an influence on Anderson’s musical taste.

His tune “Stronger Than Ever,” which originally appeared on Black and Blue, was reworked by UK garage producer MJ Cole and issued as a standalone single in March of 2014. The phrase “Stronger Than Ever” has appeared in television commercials announcing the debut of ITV Encore and in montage videos shown during Sky Sports’ coverage of Professional Darts Corporation events. Both of these uses can be found on television. In June of 2014, the song peaked at position number 30 on the Singles Chart of the United Kingdom.  During George Ezra’s UK tour in February 2015, Anderson served as the opening act.

On February 26, 2016, he released his first studio album, which was titled You’re a Man Now, Boy. The album debuted at number 32 on the UK Albums Chart. Additionally, he was featured on Stormzy’s first album Gang Signs & Prayer track 13 titled “Don’t Cry For Me,” which was made available for purchase on February 24, 2017.In 2012, Anderson was chosen to play the role of Grey Worm, the commander of Daenerys Targaryen’s Unsullied army, on the third season of the television series Game of Thrones, which airs on HBO.

Anderson continued to play this character throughout seasons 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of the show. In the 2013 season of the British television serial Broadchurch, he had the role of Dean Thomas, Chloe Latimer’s lover. It was announced in July 2021 that he would be participating in the cast of Doctor Who for the thirteenth season.  Anderson was chosen to play the role of Louis de Pointe du Lac in the AMC television series Interview with the Vampire in the month of August 2021.
