As a result, he is obligated to keep a promise he made to his wife, Hannah, that he would fulfil if the Dolphins won the game. Following a significant hit with approximately 14 minutes remaining in the third quarter, quarterback Josh Allen of the Bills lost control of the ball inside their own territory and fumbled it. The touchdown scored by Sieler and the point-after try scored by Jason Sanders gave Miami a 24-20 lead. Back in the 1980s, Disney was not yet a prominent player in the Hollywood film industry, despite the fact that it is now an unstoppable media juggernaut. Back then, the production company was largely recognised for the children’s programming it produced. After producing some of the most successful animated films of the past more than four decades, beginning with “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” in 1937, Disney Studios had a reputation that was well deserved.

Let’s fast forward to the early 1980s, when the video cassette recorder rental business and cable television were fueling the growth of the film industry. Disney Studios wanted a piece of the action, but they were aware that it would be difficult to overcome the perception that their products were intended primarily for children. Their answer was to launch Touchstone Films as a production company.

Using a strategy that is known as market segmentation, Disney established a distinct division of the firm called Touchstone Films  to create more mature, live-action material. Touchstone Pictures. “Splash,” which was released in 1984, was the first movie to be produced by Touchstone Pictures.

The romantic comedy “Splash” is a literal representation of a fish out of water story. In the film, Daryl Hannah plays the role of a mermaid who falls in love with a human from New York and struggles to adjust to life on land once the two of them get together. Tom Hanks would play the role of Hannah’s potential love interest in the movie. The movie has a rating of PG despite having a few brief instances of nudity, light instances of language, and sexual innuendo.

To put it another way, something that Disney could not even begin to grasp at the time, but Touchstone easily did. Tom Hanks began his career on television years before he became one of the most famous actors in the world. In 1982, he appeared as a special guest on the sitcom “Happy Days” that aired on ABC. Hanks made the remark in a conversation he had with Andy Cohen “I am rumoured to have been the first person to punch Fonzie. I gave him a kick that sent him crashing through the stained glass window of Al’s drive-in.”

In the 2017 season of the Netflix drama Mindhunter, Gross starred as the character Debbie Mitford. Mitford is a post-graduate student at the University of Virginia and the girlfriend of one of the three characters. Gross performed the role of Mitford.
