Who is Gong Li?

Gong Li is a well-known Chinese actress. Her birth date is December 31, 1965, and her Chinese name is.  She had starring roles in three of the four films that were made in Chinese and were submitted for consideration for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. Gong Li was the youngest of five children and was born on December 31st, 1965 in Shenyang, which is located in the province of Liaoning in China.

Gong has been honoured with honorary honours at the Berlin Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival, in addition to winning three Hundred Flowers Awards, two Golden Rooster Awards, and the Hong Kong Film Award over the course of her career. In 2010, the French government bestowed upon her the honour of being promoted to the rank of Commander  of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
